Events Leading Up To the Cuban Missile Crisis:
The Bay of Pigs:
The Image shows a map of Cuba and how close it is to America so if Russia had bombed them, it would have been terrible for America as well.
|
Analysis: Kennedy's instant reaction to go ad invade Cuba shows how much both sides despised the opposite government. With this you can infer how all countries wanted everyone to be just like them. |
Nuclear Threats:
Analysis: If the world hadn't industrialized as much and nuclear weapons hadn't existed, the cold war wouldn't be as intense. President Kennedy's strict demand for Russia to call off their weapons shows how much damage a nuclear weapon can do. |
The following image shows a explosive nuclear bomb that could have been released during the cold war.
|
How its Ended and Effects:
The following image shows Russia in an arm wrestling match against America and they are both sitting on nuclear weapons and this is symbolic for the Cold war.
|
Analysis: Russia moving back first showed how Russia was still scared of the United States and how much world wide power the US had. Ultimately, Russia calling off their weapons first was a good thing because if both countries had remained stubborn, the world would have lost many lives and it would not be the same. |
